Attention to all our diabetic patients who are on any of the following medications:
Ozempic, Rybelsus, Trulicity, Victoza, Bydureon, Byetta
Please read on, as there is a national shortage of these GLP 1 drugs.
We have very recently been made aware that there is a national stock issue with these medications- this is unlikely to be fully resolved for at least 12 months.
We are arranging to review all patients on these medications in order of priority, as advised by Department of Health, to look at alternative medications and/or other options including diet support.
Please bare with us as this is a very large patient group and we are receiving an overwhelming number of queries about it already. In the meantime, if you run out of your medication please be reassured that there should be no immediate/ short term adverse effect associated with this.
However, if you do feel unwell, have increased thirst, increased urination, rapid weight loss or abdominal pain please contact the practice for review.
We appreciate your understanding of a situation that is out of our control and assure you we will do our best to review you in a timely manner and ensure you receive the best possible diabetes support.
