Demand due to Ambulance industrial action
Due to the ambulance industrial action taking place today and tomorrow (6 and 7 February), we are anticipating an increased demand via our phone lines, and as such this could be resulting in a delay in you being able to contact us.
Local pharmacies can help with a number of common ailments, such as UTI’s in females, conjunctivitis and earaches.
Patients are advised that they should only be calling 999 if the situation is life threatening medical or mental health emergency. There will be significant delays to their services throughout the day.
NHS 111 call handling services are also affected by the industrial action, however you can use the 111 online service which will guide you to the most appropriate service for your medical problem.
You can also send in your non-urgent queries via our e-consult service via our website, this includes any requests for FIT notes.
